A postdoctoral position is available (starting January 2020) in Verginis Lab at University of Crete Medical School and Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB), Heraklion, Crete to study mechanisms of immune regulation in the context of cancer. Our lab currently focuses on investigating immune tolerance mechanisms at a cellular and molecular level in response to checkpoint inhibitor immunotherapy in tumors. The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to study tumor immunology in a well-mentored environment applying cutting edge technologies (i.e. CYTOF, single-cell RNAseq etc) in both mouse models and patient biological samples.
Highly motivated PhD or MD/PhD fellows are encouraged to apply. A solid background and working experience in the areas of immunology and/or molecular biology are desired. In addition, previous experience in mouse models is also favored. The duration of the fellowship is for two years with possible extension and the salary is up to 25.000Euros/year.
