Postdoctoral Position, Kidney Institute, University of Kansas Medical Center

Position Summary: A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Pinelopi Kapitsinou, located at the Kidney Institute, University of Kansas Medical Center. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated scientist to investigate the role of oxygen sensing in acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease progression. We are particularly interested in exploring the effects of endothelial PHD/HIF axis in kidney injuries utilizing molecular biology, biochemical and metabolomic approaches. Transgenic mice, primary cells and other cell culture systems are used as main experimental models.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. degree (Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field). Candidates should have strong work ethic, excellent laboratory and communication skills, be motivated to advance the project and have a proven publication record.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with vascular biology or metabolism-related research.
