ABOUT THE LIBRA INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Taking in 100 interns each year, Libra Group Internships are a unique opportunity for bright, talented students with proven leadership potential to undertake a funded placement with the Libra Group and its 30 subsidiaries operating from locations throughout the world. Selected students get the opportunity to intern with the Libra Group in one of several key international locations, including New York, Miami, London, Athens, Beijing, and Buenos Aires.
Libra offers internships within its five core sectors, shipping, aviation, hospitality, real estate, renewable energy, plus selected diversified investments. Internship positions are also available in specific areas such as finance, marketing, non-profit, administration, legal, research, analytics, IT, HR, hotel operations, and more.
Working alongside industry professionals, all Libra Group internships are focused and fully supported to give participants the best experience of a working environment where they can develop and hone many skills required for their future career.
GLOBAL PLACEMENT – Interns are placed at the Libra Group or one of its 30 subsidiaries around the world, often involving the exploration of a new culture and city.
MENTOR PROGRAM – A mentor (senior executive) is assigned to each intern, providing guidance to the intern on how to navigate the internship, company, and personal career development.
BUDDY PROGRAM – Libra ensures that each intern feels welcome in their new location by pairing them up with a junior colleague, known as their ‘Buddy.’ The Buddy provides support pre-arrival, as well as during the internship, and is available to assist with any questions about the business or local area.
FEEDBACK – The internship focus is on learning and preparing for a future career in a global context. Feedback is crucial for success. Goal-setting, coupled with performance reviews and constructive feedback, are all features of the program enabling interns to refine skills and develop self-knowledge.
TRAINING – Each program intake commences with an intensive week-long orientation where interns are introduced to key Libra executives from across our worldwide operations who share industry insight and personal stories which motivate and inspire the intern team. Ongoing training is provided throughout the duration of the internship via individual one-on-one sessions as well as group skills training in areas such as resume writing, LinkedIn, business protocol, organizational and time management skills, negotiation skills, resilience and stress management techniques.
